But here is an update..", "Dog days of summer.....but the staff has been keeping up nicely as the tandem and AFF students have been coming in by the dozens! Even with the questionable weather over the past weekend, we managed to fly 12 loads...compared to the last couple months, that is a slow weekend. ", "Our jumper population has increased by 3 in the last month.  Congratulations to Mary Marjorie Bethea, Lee Crouch, and Zack Jackson.  Pie is a good summertime treat, isn't it?.. pics coming soon!", "The search for a turbine is ongoing...very difficult this time of year with the season in full swing all over the country, but we haven't given up...We were lucky enough to have the grand caravan here a couple weekends ago from Sebastian while hurricane Dennis was touring the FL area.  Unfortunately, the rain followed the plane up, and we only flew a couple loads.", "Harvest Moon Boogie IX plans are well under way, and last year was just a warm up!!! The boogie is going to be on Oct 21-22-23, and we are hoping to have pre-boogie loads going on the 20th.  As always there is unlimited tent camping available on the DZ, Comfort Inn in St. George has skydiver rates, and a limited number of RV slots on the DZ, first come first serve.  They won't last long though, so call to reserve.  There is also a very nice campground 2 minutes down the road from the DZ, Jolly Acres Campground, call the DZ for numbers.", "That's all for this week,", "Blue Skies!", "Marie", "
", "Thursday, April 7, 2005", "The weekend blew in with a vengeance!  Saturday was totally winded out for everyone - but that was not a problem as we had Burke conducting the Skydiving Exhibition seminar down at Jolly Acres Campground.  As expected, the seminar was very thorough and the feedback from everyone in attendance was very positive.  Hopefully in the very near future we will have some more PRO-rated jumpers.  A couple of us stayed at the DZ and got a few things accomplished while we were grounded.  The final awning is now up over the locker area, a swoop course is out in the alternate landing area, and \"Massive Creepers\" are almost ready to hit the creeper pad!", "Sunday was a bit more suitable for jumping and we did several tandems along with the experienced jumper loads.  Each person at the DZ was given a ticket for each load they were on and at the end of the day we raffled off 3 t-shirts.  Jay Judice, Jeff Matre and Marquis Toson held the winning tickets.", "This upcoming weekend is looking good as far as weather goes.  We have a very busy tandem day scheduled for Saturday so check back next week for the update to find out what happened!", "Marie", "

", "Wednesday, March 23, 2005", "Last weekend was a gorgeous weekend, and warm temps too!  The crowd was a bit lite, but we did manage to fly 9 loads in all.  Several tandems and AFF jumps were made as well as the regular fun jumps.", "Congratulations to Tony Halderman who graduated from AFF on Saturday!  I hope to be getting a page added with photos of each student as they graduate...stay tuned for that!", "Also, congratulations to Jason Judice who accomplished his 500th jump on Sunday.", "Saturday before last (March 12) was USPA Safety Day, and the crowd that turned out was great.  The day proved to be extremely windy and never did calm down, but that contributed to a very thorough and successful Safety Day.  Many thanks to all those who did presentations, as well as to everyone that participated.  As promised, Jack gave away 3 prizes.  To qualify, you had to be at the dz by 8:30 for the beginning of the presentations.  Congratulations to Jay Judice who won a whole day of free jumps!  Hank Vause won 3 jump tickets, and Scott Weed who won one jump ticket.", "That Saturday was also Jack's birthday!  Jeff Wragg supplied a \"bucket o' chili mac\", and what would a birthday party be without cake???  A lot less messy!!!  I supplied the cakes..one to eat and one to put in Jack's face.  He took it like a trooper, and that wasn't all.  We also pied him for making his 2000th jump.  Tom Morton was also treated to a good \"pie\"ing for accomplishing his 1000th jump a while back.", "The next day (Sunday the 13th) was a good jump day, and 6 tandems took advantage of the fine weather, and we flew 5 loads throughout the day.", "Marie", "
", "Monday, March 7, 2005", "It felt like spring this weekend!  Saturday was gorgeous and warm and Sunday was great.  In all we flew 8 loads.  Eleven tandems took the plunge and five AFF jumps were made.", "Congratulations to Josh Fugle on completing his AFF jumps!!  Josh graduated on Sunday and we look forward to leading him on to his A license and beyond with the instructor and coaching staff.", "We also welcome Al to the DZ.  Al is an experienced jumper who is moving to the Charleston area from Indiana with over 2000 jumps.  He is also a tandem and aff instructor as well as videographer.", "Our last 3 tandems on Sunday were an especially interesting group.  They were all helicopter pilots who are working in the area trimming trees...from the helicopter.  They are from different areas in the US, and spent most of the day with us just spectating...until they couldn't stand it anymore and decided to just go for it.  They all enjoyed a tandem jump on the sunset load.  Sunday had a spectacular sunset, and the video was awesome.", "Next weekend is USPA Safety Day and we encourage all skydivers to attend.  We will be starting at 8:30 with Gear Safety being the topic.  Different topics will be scheduled throughout the rest of the day.  Everyone who is there for the first session --8:30-- will be entered in the drawing to have all their skydives free for the day.  Second place will be 3 free skydives, and 3rd place drawing will be one jump ticket.", "Have a great week!", "Marie", "

", "Monday, February 21, 2005", "What a nice February weekend!  We flew 6 loads on Saturday, and had hopes of flying a few loads early on Sunday.  However the weather man switched the Sunday forecast up on us and by the time the clouds cleared in the afternoon, the crowd had dispersed.", "Saturday our newest AFF student got his course AND first jump in.  Sounds like he will be back soon to continue on!  This student's jump was caught on video as it was Jack and Keith's first jump together as Jumpmasters!  ...yes they paid up!!", "Emily made it back to our dropzone from Tennessee and a two point 8 way was added to her successes with only 29 jumps under her belt!  Speaking of making it back to the DZ, Wragg finally got his gear back from the \"tune up\" shops and was out to jump on Saturday.", "Prior to the weekend, Jay Stokes wrapped up his AFF Instructor Rating course with Tony and Chris from New York, who successfully completed it!  Congratulations you guys!  We all said goodbye to Jay as he packed up and headed back to the southwest, and to Kevin who went on to Mt. Wednesday, January 19, 2005", "First of all, Thursday, January 13, Rich and Kami had their baby girl! Congratulations!", "Brrrrr!  The weekend was chilly!  We did manage to get a couple loads up on Saturday, and that was enough to get the tandems up and graduate an AFF student.  Congratulations to Bo Conroy on his graduation from AFF!  Bobby Frierson (check out his old plane) also surprised us when he showed up and wanted to get back in the air.  He made a tandem skydive, and says it was jump \"number 6002-ish\".  After recovering from an accident he had last year, he decided it was time to take to the air again.  Way to go Bobby!", "Jackie, Brian, and Bo were all with us on Saturday to jump before they leave for their job transfers.  We also had plenty of good food to chow down on Saturday night.  Good luck to you all, we are gonna miss you.", "Sunday the clouds and winds were too much.  We took the day off from jumping and got caught up on some other things on the ground, so the day certainly wasn't wasted.", "That's about it for now, hopefully we will get more jumping in next weekend!", "Marie", "
", "Monday, January 10, 2005", "I have rejuvenated after all the holiday travel and am now ready to carry on...and like it! Of course the weather is certainly a plus, 70+ degrees in January is just FINE!", "It seems that a lot of us are enjoying the balmy temps as the crowds were good all weekend!  The weekend proved to be productive despite the late start times due to fog and clouds in the morning.  We did manage to fly 9 full loads in all.  The tandems were all patient in letting the weather clear up nicely for their adventures in the sky.  We cooked burgers Saturday night and enjoyed the weather some more!", "Last week we received the taped footage of the cable tv episodes for Ultimate Choice.  As some of you may already know, last June we were host to their crew and cast for a day of filming.  The show is awesome!  And now we have staff that have been on national cable tv!  On the show, you see that the reactions of the cast -- surprised with their first challenge event (skydiving) -- cover a really broad range!", "WHERE'S WILBUR???
